Tuesday's with Trisha: 5 great restaurant to try in DC

5 great restaurant to try in DC

I love New York and New York City real estate but I can’t claim to be a native. I was born and bred in Maryland and am currently back home in the DMV (DC, Marlyland and Virginia) area for Compass’ Real Estate retreat. Since I’m back in my stomping grounds for the week, I thought this week’s Tuesday with Trish could be about some great restaurants to try in my hometown.

Shaw’s Tavern
Shaw’s is one of my favorite bunch places in the area. The food is consistently good and in the Spring and summer, there’s nothing better that eating a plate of their Baily’s French toast in the outside patio.

Busboys and Poets
Busboys and poets is a staple in the DMV. There are several locations in the area and it a great place to meet friends and have a great meal. Busboys and poets is unique in that they have some great vegan and vegetarian choices along with some great meat eater dishes like their Lamb sliders.

Mad hatter
Mad hatter is another great brunch spot in DC. They have solid menu options and a generous drink menu. If a great boozy brunch is what you’re looking for, Mad hatter is the place for you.

DC Harvest
I actually only tried DC Harvest for the first time last year for my birthday after reading tons of great reviews. I’m happy to say that, those reviews did not disappoint, DC harvest is a great farm to table restaurant with great organic and unique menu options. My favorite was the Pan roasted roseda farm ‘café’ steak.

Ben’s Chilli Bowl
If you are in DC, you have to try Ben’s Chili bowl. It’s an iconic restaurant that has been around for almost 60 years. This restaurant was even a favorite spot of President Barak Obama. They are known for their great chili, awesome staff and inspiring owner Virginia Ali.

I hope that I was able to give you an ideas for your next meal when visiting DC.
